Hey fellow parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles! Ready for splash pad season? Let’s dive into some quick tips to help you pick the best spot for your family’s water-filled adventures.

Types of Splash Pad Water Systems:

  1. Pass-Through Systems (Fresh Water):💧
    • Pros: Uses fresh water every time, so no chemicals needed.
    • Cons: There’s still a risk of germs and bacteria.
  2. Recirculating Systems:🔁
    • Pros: Eco-friendly as it uses less water by filtering and disinfecting continuously.
    • Cons: Needs careful monitoring; a malfunction could lead to higher levels of contaminants.

Top Safety Tips:

  • Check the Setup:☎️ Before letting the kids loose, find out about the splash pad’s water system from your local parks department. Key things to consider are how often the equipment is disinfected and how many times per day the water levels are checked. Knowing these details can help you decide which splash pad is best for your family.
  • Sunscreen and Shade:⛱️ Slather on that sunscreen and reapply every two hours! Don’t forget breaks in the shade and consider sun-protective clothing.
  • Stay Hydrated:🥤 With all the excitement, remember to take plenty of water breaks.
  • Regular Restroom Breaks:🚻 Encourage bathroom breaks or diaper checks (regular and swim) at least every hour to keep the water and equipment clean.
  • No Drinking the Water: 🚫 Remind your little ones that splash pad water is for play, not for sipping.
  • Feeling Sick? Stay Home: 🤢Help keep everyone healthy by avoiding public splash pads if your child isn’t feeling well.

With these tips in mind, we can splash as safely as possible and enjoy every sunny moment! Here’s to a fantastic summer of making waves and creating memories! 😄💦
